The restoration of Cassiobury Park

Council officers will be in Cassiobury Park this weekend to talk to visitors about the planned restoration of the park. Located at the pools, the team will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the planned improvements.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Dorothy Thornhill, says: “Cassiobury is Watford’s best loved public park and our principal green space. I know how important it is to our residents which is why we are taking this opportunity to restore some of its unique historical character for future generations to enjoy.

The project will enable local people who live, work and visit Watford to reconnect with their past and their local environment by creating a walk back in time – a link from town centre to countryside via Watford’s most significant historical landscape.

There are also plans to provide additional space for educational resources and catering; space for community groups and activities; more and better toilets and changing rooms; more opportunities for volunteering and greater protection for our rich network of natural habitats, like Whippendell Woods.

The team will be at the pools this Saturday 22 August or Thursday 3 September from 10pm to 4pm on both days.
